BUSKING IN TRIESTE | @il_piccolo_trieste
i'll be honest with you, i haven't played music in a long time. maybe in another blog i will explain the reason why. given that we are so close to christmas, a date that brings a lot of introspection, i've been thinking a lot about everything that's been happening for the last few years. i feel that too many good things happened but at the same time i feel that my actions could've been better. one of the main things that in particular i didn't do enough was playing music as a busker which makes me want to go back in time and admire the way i was connected with music in 2021. i would like to repost an article that one of the main newspapers in trieste published two years ago. this was a time just after the height of the covid pandemic when people were still accustomed to wearing face masks. there was a significant decrease in the number of buskers, so people were not used to listening to artists on the streets. 'il piccolo,' the newspaper, was running a special series #itriestini in which random citizens were selected every day to talk about themselves or about various topics. in the first week of december 2021, i was chosen by them...

Sono nato e ho vissuto per molti anni in Ecuador, a Guayaquil, una città sulla costa pacifica.

La musica ha un ruolo determinante nella mia vita. In famiglia siamo tre sorelle e due fratelli;
tutti abbiamo imparato a suonare uno strumento da mio padre, un ottimo cantante e musicista, che
ci ha tirati su con questa passione.
La musica mi serve a superare i momenti più difficili della vita, ma anche ad accompagnare gli
istanti più belli. Come indosso gli occhiali da vista ogni mattina, così intendo la musica: come
una presenza costante nella mia giornata.
Fare l’artista di strada è il modo che ho per mantenermi economicamente, senza dipendere dalla
mia famiglia. È anche una scusa per riportare la musica nelle strade e nelle piazze; di questi
tempi, può essere una forma di terapia per le persone, in grado di scacciare via i brutti
pensieri che riempiono la testa; anche solo per qualche minuto. "
